"The only way I can described it is as Fantastic, It sounds HUGE when you stomp on it."

"I am very picky with my sound, extremely picky I would say and this mod deserves a 10."

"Great improvement - There's more low end, more controllable midrange, no thin, brittle highs. Much warmer sounding and much more desirable tone."

"No other distortion unit I've run has sounded as good as this mod... no small feat considering that I've tried nearly a dozen different boxes."

"The sound out of this pedal makes everything thick. Fat is an overused term. From clear to creamy, the signal just gets fatter. It makes all my other gain pedals thin and whiney. I'm talking (**popular pedal builder**), not junk. And I never thought I'd be putting them back in the drawer."

"As I am on the Quest for the HOLY GROWL of CLEAN SUSTAIN. This dog barks... It's the kill swill. I've owned three old Dyna Comps, a CS-2, a CS-1, a CP-835 and a Ross Compressor. Buy a CS-3. Have Indy GUITARIST modify it. And be done with it."

"Amazing variations with the four controls. The tone control and the attack control now have highly audible functions. "No biological function!"

"(The pedal) came back smokin! Killer power chords, cutting leads, fairly transparent, chord definition stays intact. He put a tone pot inside the unit, this allows for tweaking the tone. The exterior tone knob operates within the parameters of the interior one. The sound of this mod retains most of the qualities of the original pedal. Bottom end is more dramatic. It has a modern sound not so vintage. But not nu-metal either. I use this on my tube amps."

"I was a looking for a cheaper alternative to the Keeley and the Bi-comprosser (I still have both). The Boss pedals seemed to not have enough headroom and would squish to life out of a guitar. The Indy mods made the pedal very usable, cut the noise and fixed the squish problem. I think of it as more sustain and less limiter. This is the best deal in the world if you already have the Boss pedal."

"Sounds terrific. Every bit as good as my (**popular pedal builder**) modified pedal, his is a little softer. This is slightly different sound but just as good. I really like the tone control now. It'll take you from a classic sound to something a bit more trashy. Not really a tight Metal Distortion sound but great for everything else. Not noisy either. The Indy site has a sound clip. However, I find the pedal sounding better than expected. Particularly good for Vintage style Hard Rock (Angus, etc.)"

"The mod on this is insane, it took a very boring, tone sucking pedal and made it great. Fas less noise, very clean faster chorus, more depth and shimmer, infact, it now has shimmer where as before it sounded like it was void of high end. Works so much better than stock."

"This mod has taken an otherwise pretty lame Boss Compressor an turned into a warm, fat, quality sounding pedal. I was reluctant to do it at first, but I'm so glad I did. Before it was really tough to get a good sound that didn't effect my tone too much. Now it's actually improved my tone to the point where I'm dissapointed to turn it off. Far less splatty too."

"I'm one happy camper. The best dirty boost for high gain sounds I've ever heard, crystal clear when bypassed, and the parametric EQ tone circuit for the best tone control possible. I'm going to get another one for a backup, I can't take the risk of not having access to this down the road. It's the perfect Mesa Mk dirty boost."

"The Indyguitarist Mod improves this pedal and makes it a better pedal. The pedal now sounds warmer and smoother but with an edge with more gain. The clipping distortion is more organic and less mechanistic than the original, a huge improvement. I think they call that asemetrical clipping. Sustain is very good but not overboard ,notes decay nicely. Great note articulation.
The Jacques pedal has a good foundation to work from because of it's fine engineering with good control of tone. The Mod maintains the great Treble and Bass control. The drive can go from a clean boost to serious distortion. The Modded version is nicely voiced , it can sing like a bird or roar like a lion. This pedal packs a punch and makes your gear sound much full

"This pedal sounds like a dark Marshall Plexi. I am using T. Anderson Guitars and % by 13 amps. I keep the gain rolled back on this pedal and keep the Pinnacle hot. This pedal gives a smooth round tone. Think Eric Johnson type tone only not as fuzzy. Great sound, perfect for rhythm, chords ring true."

"Brian,
what a great mod! The eq on the MT-2 is fantastic now with a nice improvement on the noise factor. Great alternative to shelling out on a boutique pedal."

"Just wanted to let you know that the Sputter Fuzz is here and it sounds great! I've only had the chance to play around with it twice, but it's almost exactly what I was looking for, and I'm pretty sure I can get it as close to perfect as humanly possible with more experimenting. My
complaint with most lo-fi, sputtery fuzzes is that they all either seem
to have either an extremely flabby bottom end, or no bottom end; from
what I'd heard of the Sputter Fuzz's soundclips, it sounded great,
lo-fi but not too lo-fi, and it had a decent, creamy fuzz tone as well.
Now that it's here, I've seen that the soundclips were right; it can
work just fine (actually, much better than "just fine") as a normal
fuzz, but it does great amp-blowing-up tones as well, and it reacts
very beautifully (and strangely and unpredictably) to other pedals,
especially other fuzzes, filters, and phasers. Anyway, sorry for being
so long-winded; just wanted to say that it's a great product and a
great price. Justin told me that you guys are very busy, and I'm glad
to hear it because you deserve it!"

"So thanks for doing what you do and giving guys like me the opportunity
to enjoy the fruit on my labor. I know you'll understand this, when I
first plugged that pedal into the amp and heard how the simple mod made it
sound,it was the most awesome feeling!! People pay big money for those
feelings, put nasty things in their body and this was "All Natural" Thanks again Brian! "

"I came home after work today and ran everything through my vintage Duncan
84-40 tube amp. Bingo. THIS is the sound I wanted. The Blue Fuzz is AMAZING on the clean channel. It produces that elusive "chewy"dimensionality that the amp lacks on its own. Riffs just invent themselves and your fingers fly all over the place because the tone is so inspirational. I've never cared for the "distortion" channel on the Duncan because it's never been voiced to my liking. Now, with your pedals hooked up, it's like a whole different amp! The Pinnacle 2 excels at that natural overdriven grit. And it's a GREAT signal boost. Responds well to pick dynamics and cleans up beautifully with the volume knob, too. Lovely sustain. The pedals actually sound more like tubes breaking up than the actual tubes! It's almost like an "idealized" version of tube distortion. But it only seems to blossom when the pedals are hooked up to an all-tube amp. Odd but true (at least to my ears). If you're still reading my ramblings at this point, I just wanted to make sure you know I LOVE the
combination of the Blue Fuzz and the Pinnacle 2 with my Duncan. It's
given me 3 more channels of sonic nirvana. Everything from gently nuanced
blues musings to a full-out assault that out-Marshalls my Marshall. Thank you
again for such great products! It was a real joy to have that tone blasting out of my speakers. I can't wait to hear what you come up with next."

"This pedal is loud... has great tone, and is soooo _much_ better than the standard DS-1. The old DS-1 had about 1 tone setting which I found acceptable, but the modded one you can pretty much set it at any point and come out with a good sound. The best thing though is that you can hear the tone of the guitar coming through (not like the original) I love the sound of it with the tone at full bass with all my Strat pickups on, it sounds crazy. Very phat. Very responsive. It is now a useable pedal.. Nice for lead stuff too nearly as phat for leads as a Big Muff Pi"

IndyGuitarist Effect Modifications
Just like car enthusiasts who 'hot-rod' their cars, musicians wanting to get the best tone possible with their money often turn to modifying their current pedals. Why? Because many 'average' sounding pedals can be made to sound nothing short of amazing...when the right person knows how to tweak it to get the sound the customer wants!

Price of Modifications: $50, includes return shipping in the usa.
International customers: shipping is via USPS global priority, shipping is a flat fee of $12, which will have a tracking number available as well (for most locations).

"How does your mods compare to 'the other guys'?"
We actually know the mods that our competition does very well - many 'big name' players and producers pay us top dollar to modify their equipment and many times even *RE-MODIFY* pedals that have already been modified by other well known pedal modders, (aka "the other guys").

NONE of the modifications we do are copies of anyone else, everything was carefully devised by ear, carefully replacing parts in the circuit that need to be changed to sound better and adding new circuits in existing pedals in order to make them sound as good or better than the "boutique" pedals available today.

"Do I send you my pedal, or can I buy a new pedal that has already been modified?"
Actually, either one! We will modify YOUR pedal if you send it to us, or we also provide brand new pedals that have already been modified by us (AKA - pre-modified pedals). To purchase our "pre-modified" pedals simply contact us for a quote.

For a complete list of pedals that we modify see below. Contact us if you don't see your pedal listed, most often, if we can get a schematic of the pedal we can modify it.

Click the pedal name to learn more about it.
While we DO modify all these pedals, we don't have soundclips for all of them unfortunately.
